It is interesting several different parts of a larger universe at the same time, because you drop a pebble in one pool and echoes in the magic mirror of another. You reach a point where stories start to suggest themselves, and ideas which have fallen through the cracks before bubble to the surface. I think I love writing more than any other activity I have ever engaged in in my life – creative-wise that is. I used to like drawing, but the potential for me to create things seems unlimited – I can build universes with a few lines of text, and snuff out entire civilizations with a few more. My poetry does something different for me – crystallizes thoughts about my life, and gives me a vehicle for exploring them and translating them into something else. Who needs to explain the need for non-fiction?
